The book I read to research this post was Google Voice for Dummies by Bud E Smith et al which is an excellent book I got from amazon. Google voice is a voice automation program you can say a website address and it will take you there also it is a internet phone program where you can place calls on your computer. It’s compatible with the other google programs. One big bonus with it is you can incorporate all your phone numbers into one number. Apple have prevented it from being compatible with the iPhone but you can do what is known as jailbreaking where you modify it although that voids the warranty and prevents you from using the apple app store so is not recommended. Android which was developed by google is especially compatible with google voice. It’s probably a good idea to continue giving out your email address to acquaitances instead of your google voice number as especially if you are in business you will inundated with calls although google consolidates your email address as well. A program called gizmo5 is compatible with google voice and has a call plan for people in the USA you are also given a San Fernando area code which is apparently quite sought after it was made famous in a song.

The book I read to research this post was Blackberry for Dummies 4th edition by Robert Kao et al. This post covers the 9700, the pearl 9100 and 9105, the curve 8500 and the bold 9700. I thought I’d cover sat nav in this post. There are 4 GPS apps which work with blackberry which are blackberry maps which is included free, google maps which is also free, garmin mobile which is a paid app and telenav gps navigator for a monthly fee. Telenav & garmin are gps only and the other 2 work with or without gps. Telenav is designed to be used as a sat nav in the car. If you don’t have blackberry maps or google maps they can be downloaded from

mobile.blackberry.com

m.google.com/maps

With all 4 sat nav programs you can type in an address and they will direct you there. They suggest you have an unlimited data plan if you use the gps feature a lot on your blackberry.
